Bone Graft

If the doctor believes your jaw bone is too thin or soft to keep an implant in place in its current state he/she will talk to you about bone grafting.

The procedure consists of taking a section of bone from another area of your body, or using a special bone grafting material, and graft it onto your jaw bone. You may have to wait several months after the procedure for the graft to create strong bone to make sure the implant will be supported.
