Top, Bottom, or Permanent Retainer - $150

Retainers are custom-made devices, made of wires or clear plastic. They are used to hold teeth in position after surgery or any method of realigning teeth, such as braces. There are three types of retainers, hawley retainers, essix retainers, and permanent. Hawley retainers are made of metal and acrylic and is the most common retainer. The second type is essix, which are made of a clear plastic, they are usually given after a patient has worn the Hawley retainer for a while. The third type is the permanent retainer which is only recommended to some patients and it is glued to the back of the teeth.

Let me start with...We do not have dental insurance. I am giving 4 stars because my son needed braces and we interviewed 3 Orthodontists and couldn't afford any until we went to Risas. I have to travel a distance to get there but the cost (including the 20% off If you pay in full) was 45% less than the other Orthodontists we visited, this makes the distance easier. Everyone was friendly and their text reminders are convenient. Why I didn't give 5 stars...I am now going for exams and cleanings to Risas. I had my first exam earlier this week, everything went well, when I went to Pay In Full for my services, I didn't get the 20% off, making the distance for biannual exams the same cost as the dentist a 1/2 mile from my house. The 20% off does not state that it only applies to braces or procedures. I had to leave off that 5th star since cost is the only reason we make the travel to get there.
